Psychotherapy in Lewes
Transactional Analysis (Tom Lockyer)
The explicit goal of Transactional Analysis as a mode of therapy is to foster an expanding sense of individual autonomy and works both as a short-term goal-focused therapy as well as working in the longer-term with clients who wish to deepen their connection with themselves and the world they inhabit, fostering genuine intimacy and satisfaction.
Core Process Psychotherapy (Julia Rivas)
At its heart Core Process is a mindfulness-based somatic approach for working with personal difficulties. While addressing the cognitive and emotional aspects of a person’s distress, the Core Process approach also attends to the physiological elements. Our moment to moment experiences, the joyful as well as the difficulties, are mediated through the body. By attuning to the language of the body in addition to cognition/ thoughts and emotions we tap into a deeper vein of our experience.
Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Brainspotting
These are both somatic modalities for working with trauma. The work can be short-term (6-12 weekly sessions) and focused on a particular issue or on a longer term basis. Longer term work is helpful if there are more long standing difficulties which may have their origins in childhood or later traumatic events. Therapy offers a space where you can bring yourself, whatever your perception of this might be, and know it will be held with compassion.
